Refractive Errors

Refractive errors cause nearsightedness, farsightedness, or astigmatism. An abnormal eyeball, for instance, may be either near vision or distance vision blurry, while (in astigmatism) an abnormal corneal shape makes all distances blurry. We can correct these issues with eyeglasses or contacts.

Glaucoma

Glaucoma is a condition that damages the optic nerves permanently, causing gradual (and in some cases, sudden) vision loss. The most common trigger is elevated fluid pressure in the eye. We can control this pressure through medications.

Macular Degeneration

Macular degeneration is an irreversible form of damage to the macula, a zone of retinal cells that manage your central vision. Depending on the stage of the disease, we can help control your macular degeneration through lifestyle and nutritional guidance or injectable medications.

Pink Eye

Pink eye (conjunctivitis) causes eye redness, a thick or watery discharge, eyelid swelling, light sensitivity, and irritation. We can treat pink eye through anti-viral drugs, allergy medication or antibiotics, depending on the underlying cause.

Allergies

Allergies can cause a number of upsetting eye symptoms, from watering, blurriness, and redness to full-scale allergic conjunctivitis (a form of pink eye). Your optometrist at our clinic can treat the problem with eye drops, environmental/lifestyle recommendations, antihistamines, and other remedies.

Dry Eye

Dry eye causes red, itchy, inflamed eyes, blurring of vision, light sensitivity, and possibly even corneal damage in the long term. Age, drugs, underlying diseases, overuse of computer monitors, windy environments, and insufficient oil in the tears can all trigger dry eye. We can treat it with eye drops, changes in work habits, or other treatment methods.

Keratoconus

This cone-shaped bulge in the corneas may be associated with weak corneal tissues, oxidative damage or other factors. It usually causes progressively-worsening myopia and/or astigmatism. We may recommend specialized contact lenses such as scleral contacts to correct vision distorted by keratoconus.

Cataracts

Cataracts are opaque masses of proteins that prevent light from entering the lens. They cause blurry vision, poor night vision, strange light effects around bright light sources, and potential blindness. We can provide correctives to optimize your vision or co-manage a surgery to remove a diseased lens.

Amblyopia

Amblyopia occurs when the brain favors one eye's input over that of the other, reducing depth perception. We can recommend vision therapy techniques to correct this condition.
