May 2018 – Congratulations to IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng. His presentation in Amblyopia was selected by the Scientific Committee as a hot topic at the Annual Meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology held in Honolulu, Hawaii, USA. Fewer than 5% of research worldwide receive this scientific achievement each year.

June 2018 – IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng presented his research work on Refractive Amblyopia and Children Vision Development at the International Society For Clinical Electrophysiology of Vision (ISCEV) - Paediatric Symposium, in Reims, France. His presentation was applauded by hundreds of neurophysiologists, clinicians and scientistsworking in the field of visual electrophysiology.

June 2018 – IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng was an invited speaker at the recent Global Orthokeratology And Myopia Control Conference held in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His lectures and workshops were sponsored by BRIGHTENOPTIX and SYNERGEYES.

July 2018 – IGARD’s Senior Consultant Rachel Kelly presented at the Singapore Primary Eye Care Symposium on the topic “Vision and Driving” and IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng presented at the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, an update of his ongoing research in Singapore on children vision development.

Aug 2018 – IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng was featured on INSIGHTAustralia’s leading ophthalmic magazine, in an article entitled “The Future of Research on display at SOVS: Binocular vision, amblyopia, and the brain”. He was featured in the ophthalmic magazine along with several other clinicians and vision scientists from Australia. Online version of the article can be found at: insightnews.com.au

Aug 2018 – Visit to IGARD by Professor Orlando Alves da Silva, Ophthalmologist, who is renowned for his work on Proprioception Dysfunction Syndrome. Professor Orlando delivered his multidisciplinary lectures and workshops at KK Children’s and Women’s Hospital. The sessions were attended by participants from Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan and Indonesia and was chaired by IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng. IGARD is proud that the entire team is trained and certified in the Prescribing of Active Prisms for the treatment of Proprioceptive Dysfunction Syndrome.

Sept 2018 - Congratulations to IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng. He has recently been awarded the Investigative Ophthalmology and Visual Science (IOVS) Publication Grant by the American Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology (ARVO). The IOVS is the world’s leading ophthalmic research journal which publishes results from original hypothesis-based clinical and laboratory ophthalmic and vision research studies. 

Oct 2018 – IGARD’s Senior Consultant Yap Tiong Peng and Past President of ACBO (Australian College of Behavioural Optometry) Dr Adrian Bell were the Keynote Speakers at the Indian Optometric Association Annual Conference, which was held in Kochi, Kerala, India. The conference focused on Neurodevelopmental Optometry & Vision Therapy
