Retinal Health

The retina is a very sensitive part of the eye. It is somewhat similar to the film you have in your traditional camera. It is responsible for your good vision -- as soon as light enters the eye, it is captured by light-sensitive photoreceptors in the retina.

Abnormalities in the retina can have a significant impact on your vision, although sometimes you might not realize it in its early stages. Some common problems affecting the retina includes macular degeneration, myopic degeneration, retinal detachment, cystoid macular oedema, diabetes, hypertension, etc.

Retinal Health is a routine screening test at IGARD for adults and children, and patients may also be offered further testing protocols such as a high resolution central retinal imaging, diabetic retinal photography, peripheral fundus imaging and optical coherent tomography.
