Eye Diseases
Dr. Wong’s experience and education has been geared towards the treatment of low vision, ocular nutrition and pathology and myopia, and she is dry eye certified. Myopia is known as nearsightedness, and it can be mild or severe. Individuals afflicted with myopia cannot see far away objects clearly due to the way light is focused onto the retina. Ocular nutrition involves eating foods and taking supplements that promote eye health in order to slow progressive eye diseases and age related eye diseases. Ocular pathology is the study of eye diseases and their effects on the health of the eye and managing the causes and symptoms of certain eye diseases.
Dry eye is experienced by numerous individuals and is usually caused by a clogging of the oil ducts in the edges of the eye lids. When the ducts become clogged, tears evaporate more quickly, leaving the individual with painful, itchy and irritated eyes. If left untreated, it can cause vision loss.
