COVID-19 PROTOCOLS

TO OUR VALUED PATIENTS

We continue to follow all guidance provided by the Provincial Health Officer, the Ministry of Health, the BC Centre⁠ for Disease Control and WorkSafeBC in regards to COVID-19.

Please note: We are a health-care setting, which means that the repealed face covering order does not apply to our office; therefore, all persons entering or remaining in our clinic must wear a mask covering their nose, mouth and under their chin for the duration of their visit. We reserve the right to refuse entry based on the safety of our patrons and staff.

We are continuing our increased cleaning and sanitization for the time being, as we recognize that not everyone entering our clinic is fully vaccinated.

We ask that you book an appointment for any visit other than glasses pick ups, contact lens pick ups or to browse our frame selection:  please call our office to book an appointment. We ask for your patience as we are currently experiencing a large volume of calls. If we're unable to answer, please leave a message and we'll return your call as soon as possible.⁠

    Originally from Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Dr. Hurlbert returned to BC after graduating from the University of Waterloo, School of Optometry, in 1995. In 1997 he joined Maple Ridge Eye Care - Optometrists and assumed ownership of the practice shortly thereafter.

    Dr. Gary Matter received his Bachelor of Science from the University of Waterloo in 2007 with emphasis in human physiology. He later returned to school to pursue his passion for eye care. In 2012 he graduated from the renowned New England College of Optometry amongst the flourishing medical community in Boston, Massachusetts.
