Because of our commitment and exceptional patient care, we have added PRO-NOX Nitrous Oxide system to our practice. PRO-NOX uses nitrous oxide (AKA -laughing gas) as an analgesic agent to safely and effectively minimize the perception of patient discomfort. It works to slow the brain and body’s responses, and additionally triggers the release of high levels of serotonin and dopamine within mere seconds. The result? Euphoria, of course. Once inhaled, it facilitates relaxation within 1-2 minutes!
How it Works:
Nitrogen is approximately 9% of the atmosphere that we breathe in every day. By increasing the percentage of nitrogen in our inspiratory gases to 50%, it becomes considered an analgesic. An analgesic or painkiller is any member of the group of drugs used to achieve analgesia, or pain relief. PRO-NOX induces a chemical release of our own neurotransmitters of well-being, serotonin and dopamine in the brain. This creates a disassociation of pain, a perception of contentment during discomfort. As Dr. Parbhu would say "A state of feel good, don't care."
