Meet Our Doctor
Dr. John Keriotis
Dr. Keriotis has been in practice for nearly 20 years. He graduated from UAB with a Bachelor’s Degree in Natural Science and Mathematics. He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from the UAB School of Optometry in 1990. While in Optometry School, he volunteered with The United States Public Health Service and traveled to Bethel, Alaska to perform eye exams on the Alaskan Eskimo population there. He also made a mission trip to Jamaica helping to provide free eye care to the residents there.
He completed a residency in Ocular Disease at The Jackson Eye Institute in Jackson, Mississippi. While a residency is not a requirement for the profession, Dr. Keriotis chose to complete a residency to enhance the quality of care his patients receive. Fewer than 10% of optometrists complete this additional training,
Dr. Keriotis has lived in Mississippi, Pennsylvania, Virginia and South Carolina since receiving his Doctorate of Optometry, and has practiced in all types of eye care environments including hospital-based, ophthalmologic, private practice and retail environments. He was proud to serve our nation’s veterans for 3 years at the Charleston Veteran’s Administration Hospital in Charleston, SC.
He opened ClearView Family EyeCare in 2008 in order to better control the level of care his patients receive and to provide the highest quality materials.
Dr. Keriotis and his beautiful wife, Annie, reside in Vestavia. They have been blessed with two beautiful children, Nicholas and Isabelle. When not caring for his patients, he enjoys spending time with his family and woodworking. While you visit our office, check out the beautiful eyewear displays and office furnishings. He built them himself!
