Marissa L. Albano MD is a board-certified general ophthalmologist with subspecialty training in Glaucoma and Glaucoma surgery. A native of New York, Dr. Albano is a 2006 graduate of the Georgetown University School of Medicine. Following a medical internship at Georgetown Hospital, she completed her residency in ophthalmology at Georgetown Hospital/Washington Hospital Center, Washington, DC. She went on to complete fellowship training in glaucoma at Tufts University Medical Center in Boston, MA.
Dr. Albano remains actively involved in glaucoma research, and has had her work published in several leading medical journals. She volunteers her services to help those in need through working with the Prevention of Blindness Society and the Friends of the Congressional Glaucoma Caucus Foundation, through which she provides free glaucoma screenings for senior citizens.
Dr. Albano lives in Washington DC and enjoys travel, horseback riding, theater and spending time with her family.
