Dr. Andrea N. Russell
B.S. Juniata College, O.D. Pennsylvania College of Optometry
Specializes in glaucoma, diabetes and macular degeneration. She also enjoys fitting contact lenses.
Dr. Russell joined Nittany Eye Associates in July 2010. She is a Tyrone native and graduate of Tyrone Area High School. While in high school Dr. Russell was a member of the Tyrone Area Swim, Cross Country and Track Teams. While attending Juniata College she participated on the Women’s Swim Team. Dr. Russell now resides in State College with her husband William Russell, also a Tyrone native and son Carter. In her free time she enjoys reading, outdoor activities and spending time with family and friends.
Awards and Achievements:
Dr. Russell graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry with Highest Honors and was inducted into the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Society. She was also cited for clinical honors in her primary care, contact lens, ocular disease, low vision and hospital rotations. In addition, she received the Cooper Vision excellence in Contact Lenses Award. She was awarded Mid-counties Optometric Societies Young OD of the Year for 2012 and 2013.

Dr. Russell’s professional organizations include The American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, Mid-Counties Optometric Society and Women of Vision. Dr. Russell is serving as Vice President of Mid-counties Optometric Society 2014-2015, State College Junior Women’s Club.
