Dr. Moy is a board certified ophthalmologist practicing in Park Ridge IL since 1997. He graduated from the University of Illinois College of Medicine, interned at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center, and performed his ophthalmology residency at University of Illinois. In addition, he completed a fellowship in Cornea and Refractive Surgery at University of Utah Moran Eye Center and Casebeer Hale International Eye Center in Scottsdale, AZ one of the pioneering centers of refractive surgery and physician training.
He has extensive surgical experience in cataract surgery including complex procedures requiring sutured and glued intraocular lenses, use of femto laser for cataract surgery, implantations of multifocal, accommodative, and toric intraocular implants. He was one of the first ophthalmologists in the Chicagoland area to use Vivity, an extended depth of focus implant. He performs corneal transplantations including penetrating keratoplasty and endothelial keratoplasty, amniotic membrane transplantation, pterygium excision, excision of external ocular tumors, and minimally invasive glaucoma surgery including istent and Xen gel stent. His particular fellowship training in refractive surgery provided the foundation for LASIK, LASEK, and PRK. Dr. Moy receives many referrals from other ophthalmologists for consultations of complex cataract surgeries, refractive surgery complications, and cornea and external eye diseases.
Dr. Moy is currently the Chairman of Ophthalmology Division at Lutheran General Hospital. In addition, he serves as a member of Management, Executive, and Advisory Committees at the surgical center and Lutheran General Hospital. He has taught physician residents from the hospital and medical students from Rosalind Franklin Medical School. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, and Illinois Association of Ophthalmology.
Dr. Moy believes in giving back to the community and does so by volunteering at Lutheran General Hospital’s outreach programs and local youth programs, and supports various local charities. He is married and has two wonderful children. He is a big Chicago Bears fan, and when not watching the Bears or spending time with his family, he enjoys golf and trains for and participates in 5K runs, the Chicago Hustle, the Chicago Marathon, and Spartan races.
