Create the Smile of Your Dreams with Cosmetic Dentistry
Dr. Thomas A. Kernstock and his staff believe that each of our patients deserves a smile they can be proud to show off. We offer a variety of cosmetic dental solutions to correct such common aesthetic flaws as stained teeth, broken teeth, or teeth that are chipped, cracked, misshapen, or crooked.
Tooth Whitening
Tooth whitening is a commonly sought after cosmetic dental procedure. Even the most beautiful smile can appear unhealthy or dull when teeth are stained or yellowed. In as quickly as one brief session, our patients can enjoy smiles that are up to ten shades brighter.
Seeing Dr. Kernstock's oral health care team for teeth whitening is your best choice for an excellent result and prevents you from aggravating any dental problems that should be corrected before treatment. With our in-office teeth whitening system, you can see a change of up to eight shades of brightness in just an hour. The take-home products help you maintain the improvements or are suitable for the person whose busy schedule makes it hard to get to our office.
Porcelain Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of tooth-colored porcelain that Dr. Kernstock can use to cover stains or mask flaws such as cracked, broken, or misshapen teeth. Porcelain veneers are sometimes referred to as "instant orthodontics" because they can also be applied to straighten the appearance of a crooked smile.
Cosmetic Dental Bonding
Dental bonding is applying a thin coating of a tooth-colored resin composite material to teeth, which enables Dr. Kernstock to improve the appearance of numerous cosmetic flaws. This is a fast method of correcting chipped or broken teeth and for concealing stubborn discoloration. It can also correct a poorly shaped tooth by making it longer or filling gaps on either side.
Dental Crowns
Dental crowns are made to strengthen and return the function and appearance of a tooth. Unlike a filling which derives it's strength from the remaining tooth structure, a crown covers the entire tooth and seals it from further damage. There are many indications for crowns; broken teeth, severely decayed, weakened tooth structure (multiple fillings), teeth that have undergone endodontic treatment (root canals) and teeth that have multiple cracks.
The materials that are used to fabricate permanent crowns are usually ceramics (porcelain), or metal (gold) or combinations of the two. The choice is based upon the need.
Dental Bridges
A dental bridge might be an option if a patient is missing one or more teeth. A bridge is an artificial tooth that is held in place by a dental crown on either side of the gap created by the missing tooth.
Dentures
We offer both full and partial dentures to our patients in Bay County area. Unlike dental bridges or dental implants, dentures are removable replacement teeth. Dr. Kernstock uses the most modern materials and methods to create these removable prosthesis, and you can be assured of a most realistic appearance.
Dental Implants
Dental implants are titanium posts that are surgically inserted into a patient's jawbone to support permanent replacement teeth. Unlike removable dentures, and partial dentures, dental implants never need to be removed for cleaning, and they allow for more comfortable eating and speaking.
Tooth-Colored Fillings
Traditional metal fillings may create a black or gray appearance to your teeth. For this reason, at our practice we use composite, or tooth-colored fillings. White fillings applied by Dr. Kernstock are less likely to cause tooth breakage. White fillings are also virtually undetectable which makes your smile healthy and beautiful at the same time.
