Charles Shidlofsky, O.D., FCOVD is Secretary/Treasurer of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), an inter-disciplinary group of professionals dedicated to providing patients who have physical or cognitive disabilities as a result of an acquired brain injury with a complete ocular health evaluation and optimum visual rehabilitation education and services to improve their quality of life.

Dr. Shidlofsky is clinical director at Neuro-Vision Associates of North Texas, a multi-office specialty clinic that serves both children and adults who have neurological vision processing problems. They offer both evaluation and treatment for these special populations. He is a member of the medical staff at Baylor Institute for Rehabilitation-Frisco and Health South-Plano and Fort Worth. Dr. Shidlofsky also serves as a consultant for several Texas-based rehabilitation centers, including the Centre for Neuro Skills and Pate Rehabilitation. In addition, he is the director of the residency program at Neuro-Vision Associates of North Texas.

Throughout his career Dr. Shidlofsky has developed and integrated many unique therapies that have helped thousands of children and adults who have struggled in school and work due to vision problems often seen in ADD/ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, Sensory Processing Disorders as well as some of the classic vision problems related to focusing, eye teaming, eye movement skills, visual spatial skills and vision perception issues. In addition, he also has treated those who have suffered a traumatic and acquired brain injury, stroke and other neurological processing problems.

Dr. Shidlofsky is Clinical Director for Special Olympics, Texas and serves as team Vision Coach/Eye Doctor for several professional sports teams, including FC Dallas (Major League Soccer), Allen Americans (ECHL – formerly the East Coast Hockley League) and Texas Legends (National Basketball Association G League).

Dr. Shidlofsky completed his Pre-Optometry studies at the University of Texas at Austin in 1984. He then attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tenn. where he received his BS in 1986 and OD in 1988. He completed his Fellowship for the College of Optometrists in Vision Development in 2011.

He is a frequent lecturer on a number of subjects, including vision testing and rehabilitation following a Traumatic Brain Injury/Acquired Brain Injury, Sports Vision, Developmental Vision, specialty contact lenses, and medical/allied medical co-management. In addition, he is an Adjunct Professor of Optometry at: Southern College of Optometry, University of Houston College of Optometry, University of Incarnate Word-Rosenberg College of Optometry and Western University College of Optometry. He is also director of a private practice residency program in pediatrics/vision therapy/sports vision and neuro-vision rehabilitation through Southern College of Optometry.
