Dr. Kevin Denny

Dr. Kevin Denny is a board certified ophthalmologist who currently serves as the Chair of the Department of Ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco.  Before this Dr. Denny was Chief of Cataract Surgery at CPMC for 15 years. He maintains a dynamic private practice treating patients for conditions such as cataracts, glaucoma, dry eye syndrome and diabetic eye disease.  

Dr. Denny is the Director of Pacific Vision Eye Institute and a board member of Pacific Vision Foundation, an eye care foundation that endeavors to improve access, education and expert eye care to patients.  Additionally, he is also an active member of professional societies such as the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery. He has shared his surgical experience and expertise abroad through surgical missions to the Hospital de la Familia in Guatemala and Aravind Eye Hospital in Madurai, India.

Dr. Denny graduated with honors from Harvard University before receiving his Doctor of Medicine degree from New York University, where he was recognized with the Mosby Scholar Award.  He completed his residency in ophthalmology at California Pacific Medical Center, and has been practicing in San Francisco since. Dr. Denny is an author of numerous publications including “Iritis and Elevated IOP After Piggyback IOLs” in Cataract & Refractive Surgery Today (2010) and "Transitioning from Cataract to Refractive IOL Surgery" in a reference for all cataract and refractive surgeons titled Mastering Refractive IOLs: The Art and Science (2008).

All facets of Dr. Denny’s history and practice show his commitment to personalized and longitudinal patient care. By integrating ophthalmology, optometry and an optical dispensary into a single practice, Dr. Denny and his team at Denny Eye and Laser Center are dedicated to providing an individualized eye care experience for each patient. 

In his free time, Dr Denny enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan, and his two sons, Matt and Peter.  He enjoys cycling, food and wine and contemporary art.
