Based on the sold out workshop events of the past three years, once again we’re bringing our 2019 directors and production teams together to have lunch with YOU - and give you the chance to ask questions while getting to know various directors, their ideas, and their concepts for each of the six Circle shows for our upcoming season. You’ll hear about Circle’s 67th season and the opportunities available to you, and you’ll get expert tips on how to best navigate your Circle audition weekend.

The best part? We’re offering you personalized audition preparation in the areas that YOU want, the way that YOU want to experience it. You get to choose how and what you want to prepare for by choosing from different workshops, classes, and lessons that were strategically curated based on the feedback and ideas of our Circle performers. One-on-one attention and small group experience… designed for your comfort, confidence, and growth.
Each participant’s registration fee will include the mandatory Q&A Director session followed by lunch AND one personalized prep session in the area of their choice. Want more? There’s NO limit. The more you register for, the more you get for your investment. But ACT FAST… all sessions have limited capacity! Packages start at $35.
So how does it work?

2) Review the sessions below, then pick what interests you and count up your preferred sessions.

4) Mark your calendar for all day Saturday and Sunday, February 2-3.
5) You'll receive an emailed receipt after the completion of your purchase. Beginning January 7th, you’ll receive an email from the Circle staff with a link and confirmation number to REGISTER for each of your sessions, which is when you’ll know when your sessions will take place.

SHOW-SPECIFIC ACTING: SCRIPT & CHARACTER CHOICES
Break down the cold read, making character choices, and understanding how to analyze a script at a moment’s notice is the focus of this session.
SMALL GROUP SESSION
VOCAL WARM-UP & ACCOMPANIMENT RECORDING
Bring your accompaniment sheet music and digital recorder to this session, where your coach will create a vocal warm-up for you that compliments your vocal range and audition piece. You’ll leave with a recorded version of your warm-up and your audition song - exactly what you’ll want to rehearse with as auditions draw near!
PRIVATE SESSION ON SATURDAY
VOCAL MUSIC: SELLING THE STORY OF YOUR AUDITION SONG
Perform your prepared sixteen bars of music and receive feedback and helpful tips from our coach on technique as well as storytelling through song! (Don’t forget to bring your sheet music!)

Stuck between 2-3 audition songs? Bring your sheet music and get feedback on your choices and what the best option is for your voice and the show you're hoping to be cast in! Our coach will help you choose the best 16-32 bars to show off your talent.

Learn the choreography routine for 2019 Auditions. Get feedback and helpful tips from a professional and have the opportunity to ask questions about show movement and dance.
SMALL GROUP SESSION
MUSICAL MOCK AUDITION EXPERIENCE
At the end of the weekend, you’ll be able to take all that you learned and apply it to a mock audition experience, which will allow you the opportunity to exercise both your choreography skills, and sing your 16-32 measures. Organized just like Round One of Circle’s audition weekend, this experience allows you to go through the motions of the audition process, helping you shake those nerves along the way! Keep in mind that no 2019 season directors will be present, and that no feedback will be given in this session.

1:1 ACTING
Work 1:1 with a coach to optimize your script reading skills and character awareness. work specifically on scenes/characters that YOU are most interested in.

What if this is my first audition?
Perfect! Whether you are a newcomer or a seasoned veteran, our workshop is designed to help everyone at their individual level through personalized preparation.
Who are the coaches?
We’ll roll out our coaches on our Facebook page over the next several weeks. They come from a wide variety of background and skill and know Circle Theatre well!
Will ALL directors be present for the Q&A?
That is our plan, but in life (especially theatre life!), things come up. We’re working hard on a schedule that will give you access to all of our directors.
Where am I headed and what do I bring?
The event takes place at the Art and Music Center on the Campus of Aquinas College. We’ll be in touch closer to the event with directions, a campus map, a list of helpful hints, and what to bring.
If I bought Package 5 or 6, how do I get my merchandise?
You’ll receive a voucher when you check-in for Workshop Weekend that you can use that weekend or some other time at the Circle Box Office.
What if 24 hours pass by after I've purchased my Workshop Package and I haven't received my email with registration link and instructions?
This year we’ll email everyone to start registering on January 7th. After that, instructions will be sent out every few days as new people register. If you believe your purchase may not have gone through, contact [email protected].
