Face Sculpting Treatment

This facial treatment lifts tones and tightens the skin's natural ability to rebuild the texture of aging skin. Due to the loss of elasticity in the skin as we age our skin naturally begins to lose the tonicity and elasticity of younger skin. This unique treatment will re-educate your facial muscles and the firming results will accumulate as more sessions are added. Deeper lines are plumped up and out and eyes are lifted for a brighter appearance.

LED stands for light-emitting diode. These lights have been in use since the 1960s, but people have only recently begun to use them as a skin treatment.

However, since then, LEDs have shown promising results in wound healing and human tissue growth.

Different wavelengths of light in LED lights, including blue and red, penetrate the skin at different depths. This penetration may trigger biological processes that help the skin rejuvenate and heal.

Blue light

blue LED light reduces activity in the sebaceous glands, which are small oil-producing glands in the skin. This reduction in activity causes the glands to produce less oil, possibly improving acne symptoms.

Blue light may also kill a type of bacteria that contributes to acne by causing inflammation.

blue light can improve minor burns.

Red light

Red LED light may improve scarring and signs of aging, such as wrinkles. It may do this by acting on fibroblasts, which are skin cells that are responsible for collagen production.

Collagen is a protein in the skin and other connective tissues. It plays a role in skin healing. The body produces less collagen as a person ages, which causes the skin to show signs of aging.

Red light also reduces skin inflammation.

LED light therapy can help treat a variety of skin problems, including:

  • acne
  • dermatitis
  • dull skin
  • eczema
  • psoriasis
  • rosacea
  • scarring
  • signs of aging, including wrinkles and age spots
  • sun damage
  • wound healing
  • Celluma LED Light Therapy is an effective treatment for musculoskeletal conditions such as ease muscle and joint pain, stiffness, spasm, and arthritis.
  • other inflammatory skin conditions

Pre & Post LED Treatment

PRE LED TREATMENT

DON'T go to a tanning bed two weeks before treatment. This practice should be discontinued due to the increased risk of skin cancer and signs of aging.

DON'T have another treatment unless recommended.

DON'T wax, tweeze or use depilatory creams for 7 days prior.

AVOID extended sun exposure especially in the 10 days before treatment.

DELAY use of Tretinoin, Retin-A, Renova, Differin, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo, Ziana, and high-percentage AHA and BHA products for approximately seven days before treatment. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications.

DO use Sage Spa daily care products 10 to 14 days before your treatment program. This will prepare the skin and allow for better treatment results and reduce the risk of complications.

POST-TREATMENT

DON'T put the treated area directly into a hot shower spray.

DON'T use hot tubs, steam rooms, or saunas.

DON'T go swimming.

DON'T participate in activities that would cause excessive perspiration.

DON'T use loofahs or other means of mechanical exfoliation.

DON'T direct the hairdryer onto the treated area.

DON'T apply ice or ice water to the treated area.

DON'T go to a tanning bed for at least two weeks post-procedure.

DON'T have electrolysis, facial waxing, or use depilatories for approximately seven days.

DON'T have another treatment until your esthetician advises you to do so.

DELAY approximately 15 minutes before applying the foundation so the pH of the skin can stabilize. Treatments may cause slight redness, tightness, peeling, flaking, or temporary dryness. Most patients find it unnecessary to apply makeup, as the skin will be smooth, dewy, and radiant following treatment.

DELAY the application of over-the-counter medications or alpha hydroxy acid products for seven days after the procedure, as this may irritate.

DELAY the use of tretinoin, Retin-A, Differin, Renova, Tazorac, Avage, EpiDuo, or Ziana five days after the procedure. Consult your physician before temporarily discontinuing the use of any prescription medications.

AVOID direct sun exposure and excessive heat. Use the broad spectrum UV protection.

DO stay cool! Heating internally can cause hyper-pigmentation.

DO expect residual redness for approximately one to 12 hours post-procedure.

DO apply Re-Balance for normal to oily skin types or Silkcoat Balm for drier skin types if the skin feels tight. For maximum hydration, you can apply Hydrating Serum first.

- Women who are pregnant should consult their physician before beginning LED light therapy treatments.

- You must wait five days after Botox or cosmetic fillers.

- Porphyria, lupus erythematosus, photosensitive eczema, hypomelanism (albinism), skin cancer, eye disease, or retinal abnormalities.

- Treatment must be withheld if a client is currently taking Auranofin, knows as Ridaura (anti-arthritis).

- Anyone with medically diagnosed eye disease should check with his or her ophthalmologist first before using light therapy. Research by bio-physicist, Fritz Popp, suggests that individuals with Multiple Sclerosis are taking in too much light, inhibiting the ability of cells to function normally. Consult your physician if you use photosensitive drugs, are pregnant, have MS, are diagnosed with eye disease, or have any concerns about using phototherapy.
