The Celluma, is a low-level-light energy device based on NASA technology and FDA Cleared to treat many musculoskeletal and skin conditions.

Acne, also known as acne vulgaris, is a long-term skin disease that occurs when hair follicles are clogged with dead skin cells and oil from the skin. It is characterized by blackheads or whiteheads, pimples, oily skin, and possible scarring. In 2015, acne was estimated to affect 633 million people globally, making it the 8th most common disease worldwide. Acne commonly occurs in adolescence and affects an estimated 80–90% of teenagers in the Western world.

You may have heard of the terms biophotonic or low-level light therapy. Both terms synonymously are used to describe the delivery of light energy to treat a variety of medical conditions. So what is low-level light therapy? It’s the application of specific wavelengths of light energy to tissue to obtain therapeutic benefits. The energy delivered is then used to improve cellular performance. Low-level light therapy can be delivered through light emitting diode (LED) devices or cold lasers, and has a variety of applications across many medical fields. The treatment is non-invasive, painless, requires no recovery time, and can be used on all skin types.

Celluma light therapy works safely and effectively, without abrasive chemicals, harmful UV-rays or side effects, to destroy this acne-causing bacteria — not only clearing up existing blemishes, but preventing future breakouts before they happen. In just few treatments, you’ll be on your way to a clearer, smoother, more radiant complexion.

How many sessions will you need?

Treatments need to be done a minimum of twice a week for 4 weeks. Some individuals may require more treatments. Celluma LED treatments may be recommended initially in treatment to help get inflammation down and then proceed with other acne reducing treatments. If inflammation is the only type of acne an individual has (which isn’t the norm) then you may opt to do just the Celluma LED Light Therapy treatments and use of home care products to achieve results.

Who is not a candidate for Celluma LED Light Therapy?

  • Women who are pregnant should consult their physician before beginning LED light therapy treatments
  • Clients with Epilepsy
  • If you are taking photosensitive drugs
  • If you are taking cortisone or any kind of steroid injections
