If you have overly large pupils or very thin corneas, you may not be a good candidate for LASIK. The best candidates for LASIK have moderate visual impairment. Very low or very high prescriptions are not typically treated with a LASIK procedure. It's also important that your prescription for corrective lenses remains stable for at least a year. Good candidates are in good overall physical health and are at least 18 years old. If you're pregnant, wait until after you have your baby before considering LASIK. Certain hormonal changes during pregnancy can cause visual changes.
