Optical Care at Vision i Care
Caring for your eyes should be a priority. Regular eye care and vision exams help maintain your vision and eye health. Vision i Care, we provide the optical care you and your family need. We provide comprehensive annual eye exams and offer tests for cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration. If you need glasses, contacts, or prescription sunglasses, we can help you find the right pair for you at our Pasadena locations.
Common Optical Tests
There are several optical tests that we commonly use. The first is a visual acuity test that determines how well someone can see near and far distances. A refraction test indicates if someone is myopic (nearsighted), hyperopic (farsighted), or astigmatic. We also test your depth perception and peripheral vision. As part of your comprehensive optical exam, our optometrists test your color vision and perception. We also test your eye focusing ability. Identifying optical issues early on helps patients to better understand what visual limitations they may have. Understanding your limits allows you to work around them instead of letting them hold you back.
Choosing Eyeglasses
If it is determined that you need corrective lenses to have optimum eyesight, we will help you decide which glasses will work best with your face shape and what color frame goes with your skin, hair, and eye color. If you are both farsighted and nearsighted, you may benefit from bifocals or progressive lenses. We will go over all the different eyewear options we provide, so you can find the kind that best fits you. At Henderson Eye Center, we offer an array of styles, frames, and colors of eyeglasses for you to choose from to find one that best fits your lifestyle and preferences. We offer designer frames like Gucci, Versace, Ray-Ban, Michael Kors, Coach, and more.
Coating for Lenses
Several coatings are available for your eye lenses, such as anti-reflective codeine that helps cut down on glare spots. Some are scratch-resistant, which extends the life of the glasses. Others are polarizing, significantly reducing the glare from light reflecting water, glass, or metal. We offer blue light lenses that block the blue wavelengths produced from phone and computer screens. We also provide transition coatings that darken the lenses like sunglasses when you shift to sunlight. Our team can tell you more about which coatings may meet your needs.
Contact Lenses
If you need lenses to see better but don't want glasses, contact lenses may be the right option. There are many different types of lenses available today to address your needs. These include extended wear, disposables, rigid gas-permeable, and soft daily wear lenses. We also offer scleral lenses for irregular cornea conditions. These lenses vault entirely over the corneal condition and land on the eye's white part called the sclera. During your contact lens exam, we take precise measurements to make sure you leave with the size and strength lens that's right for you.
