Meet the Doctors

Dr. Dennis Leung, O.D., F.I.A.O.

Dr. Leung graduated in 1984 from New England College of Optometry, Boston, Massachusetts. He was a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and is currently a board member of the Orthokeratology Academy of America. Dr. Leung is also affiliated with the California Optometric Association and American Optometric Association. Dr. Leung is a certified Controlled Substance Agent and Diagnostic and Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent. He also holds certification for the Treatment of Glaucoma and Corneal Refractive Therapy (CRT). Dr. Leung completed the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease Training (1996) and Ophthalmological Preceptorship Training (1997). He passed the National Board of Examiners, T.M.O.D. examination in 1996.

Dr. Jiyen Shin, O.D., F.I.A.O.

Dr. Shin graduated in 1991 from the Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton. In 1996, Dr. Shin passed the National Board of Examiners and completed the Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease Training. In 1997, Dr. Shin completed the Ophthalmological Preceptorship Training. Dr. Shin took part as an investigator for the Renu Contact Lens Solution Study, sponsored by Bausch & Lomb in 2000. She also took part as an investigator for the Orthokeratology FDA Study, sponsored by Correct Tech in 2001. Dr. Shin was a lecturer for “Orthokeratology from A to Z” in September 2005. She holds membership of the Orthokeratology Academy of America since 2006.

Dr. Samuel Huang O.D.

Dr. Huang received his undergraduate degree in 1984 from the University of California, Irvine. In 1986, he earned his Bachelor of Visual Science from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO), Fullerton. Dr. Huang also received his doctorate degree in 1988 from SCCO and graduated with honors cum laude. In 1989, Dr. Huang joined Golden Vision and is currently the Chief of Optometry of Golden Vision. Dr. Huang is certified in Laser Consultation, Pre-Op and Post-Op Examinations, and Orthokeratology and Myopia Control contact lenses. He is also certified to prescribe Therapeutic Pharmaceutical Agent for Treatment of Eye Diseases.

Dr. Alan Chu, O.D.

Dr. Chu received his undergraduate degree from the University of California, Davis. He worked for a few years in a biotech company to do genetic research before going to optometry school. Dr. Chu earned his doctor of optometry degree from Western University of Health Sciences, Pomona. Dr. Chu is board certified to prescribe therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment and management of ocular diseases, including glaucoma. Prior to joining Golden Vision, Dr. Chu was working in a private optometry office and a LASIK center, where he performed pre-op and post-op examinations. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time at church, traveling with family and friends, movies, and video games.


Dr. Andrew Lei, O.D.

Dr. Lei graduated from University of California, San Diego in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Human Biology. After UCSD, he went on to study in Chicago where he received his Doctorate of Optometry from the Illinois College of Optometry in 2016. His clinical training include LASIK co-management in Atlanta, Georgia and the Veterans Affair Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Dr. Anne Lee, O.D., F.A.A.O.

Dr. Anne Lee is a native Californian, graduated double major (pyschology and biology) from UC Berkeley with Honors.  During one of her travels in undergraduate school, she lost her contact lens and realized her calling to help people see.  She graduated from SUNY Optometry in 2003, accepted into residency at the Tucson Veterans Affairs Hospital in 2004 with a specialy in ocular disease and low vision. She is a fellow in the American Academy of Optometry (F.A.A.O.) and was one of only two optometrists in AZ to be selected for a national ophthalmology Glaucoma summit where leaders join to develop treatment protocols for Glaucoma. Dr. Lee has advanced expertise in dry eye treatment, ocular disease managements and in the last 8 years, she has been expanding her knowledge and special interest for Orthokeratology with success.

Dr. Catherine Yang, O.D.

Dr. Yang graduated from University of California, Los Angeles in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Molecular, Cell, and Developmental Biology.  In 2016, she earned her Doctorate of Optometry from Southern California College of Optometry (SCCO).  Her clinical experiences include: Veterans Affair Hospital in Palo Alto, Cedar Sinai Medical Center, University Eye Center of Los Angeles, and low vision exams at Center for Partially Sighted.  She is certified to prescribe diagnostic and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents for the treatment of ocular diseases.  Dr. Yang currently practices primary care optometry, treatment and management of ocular diseases, and orthokeratology lens for myopia control.  She enjoys video games, tennis, television shows, drawing, and is a food enthusiast.  Dr. Yang is fluent in English and Mandarin.


Dr. Cindy Hsiao, O.D.

Originally from Taiwan, Dr. Hsiao moved to the Midwest during her high school years and later completed her undergraduate degree at University of Texas at Austin.  In 2008, Dr. Hsiao received her doctor of optometry degree from the University of Houston, and practiced full scope optometry in Texas for 4 years.  Dr. Hsiao joined Golden San Gabriel Optometric Vision Center in 2012.   She loves living in the San Gabriel Valley and in her spare time she enjoys traveling and visiting art museums with her husband and daughters.


Dr. Faye Tsai, O.D.

Dr. Faye Tsai received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from UCLA.  She then graduated Magna Cum Laude from Southern California College of Optometry earning her a doctorate degree in optometry.

Dr. Tsai has been serving patients at Golden Vision Center for the past 15 years. She takes great joy and pride in caring for patients with ocular diseases, orthokeratology contact lenses, as well as pre and post LASIK management.


Dr. Jan Tung, O.D.

Dr. Tung graduated from UCLA with a degree in psychobiology and then went on to the Southern California College of Optometry for her optometry degree. She speaks English, Mandarin and conversational Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, and trying foods from different countries.


Dr. Julie Kao, O.D.

Dr. Julie Kao was born and raised in Southern California. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Physiological Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and worked in both the Retina Division and Clinical Research Department of the Jules Stein Eye Institute.  Dr. Kao went on to attend the Southern California College of California where she graduated with Summa Cum Laude honors.  Dr. Kao's clinical training included sites at Kaiser Permanente, the Wellish Vision Institute Laser & Surgery Center in Las Vegas, and the VA Ambulatory Care Center in Los Angeles.  

In her free time, Dr. Kao enjoys traveling and spending time with her family. 


Dr. Le Duong, O.D.


Dr. Lillian Voong, O.D.

Dr. Lillian Voong is born and raised in sunny southern California. She grew up in Arcadia, California and completed her undergraduate education at UC Riverside with a degree in Biological Sciences. She is a graduate from the prestigious Southern California College of Optometry at Marshall B Ketchum University. Her clinical training includes internships at the VA Southeast Tucson Clinic in Arizona, Center for the Partially Sighted in Culver City, and  VA Salt Lake in Utah. 


Dr. Sandy Kao, O.D.

Dr. Kao received her undergraduate Bachelor of Science, majored in Biochemistry, from University of California, Los Angeles, in 2003.  She had graduated with Biochemistry Departmental Honor.  Dr. Kao received her Doctorate degree in 2008 from Southern California College of Optometry, Fullerton.  She had various clinical experiences throughout her rotations at Cedar-Sinai Medical group, Beverly Hills, CA, Optometric Center of Los Angeles, and Eyecare Associate, Nevada.

Dr. Shirley Chio, O.D.

Dr. Shirley Chio is a full scope optometrist licensed to provide therapeutic care, glaucoma treatment, and comprehensive eyecare. She graduated from Southern California College of Optometry and received her clinical training at VA Vegas, Center for the Partially Sighted in Culver City, and Cedars Sinai at Los Angeles. In her spare time Dr. Chio loves a good hike, discovering new eatery, and goes on impromptu road trips.


Dr. Sophie Soong, O.D.

Dr. Sophie Soong received her Bachelor of Science in Bioengineering in 2006 from the University of California, San Diego. She received her Doctors of Optometry at the University of California, Berkeley in 2010, where she graduated with honors. In 2011, she pursued a residency in Primary Eye Care at the Veterans Affairs San Diego Healthcare System. During her residency training with a primarily geriatric patient population, Dr. Soong gained advanced clinical skills in diagnosing and managing different eye diseases. Dr. Soong published an article titled “An Overview of Normal Tension Glaucoma” that appeared in the May/June 2011 issue of California Optometry Magazine.
