Meet the Optometrist

In 2001, Dr. Fendt Shearer graduated from Nova Southeastern College of Optometry.  He is a board-certified Optometric Physician, a Member of the American Optometric Association and a Member of the Florida Optometric Association.  Dr. Shearer returned to The Bahamas with a vision of providing an eye health care experience that was unique, educational and interactive.  

As a licensed optometrist, Dr. Shearer provides exams, diagnoses, and treatments of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. In addition to training in eye diseases and disorders, Dr. Shearer is also trained in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology. Dr. Shearer uses this background along with state of the art technology to recognize and diagnose a range of health issues such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetes, hypertension in addition to neurological disorders that affect an individual's eye health and vision.

Dr. Shearer works hard to stay current on the latest advances in eye health and vision care and regularly attends continuing education seminars and advanced training courses. It is because of Dr. Shearer's dedication to continuing education that all patients at LENSES receive the most modern and progressive vision care available.
