Our Practice Is Contributing To The Community

Our practice is excited to contribute to the Annandale community and more. Please help us to help others!

Holy Spirit Catholic School

Our practice has been a key sponsor of the Holy Spirit 5-K race in since 2016 to raise funds to support the learning resource program at the school. Our staff manned the booth and Dr. Michelle and her daughter Madeline ran in the race (Madeline finished before Dr. Michelle!)

I Care & Share – Optometry Giving Sight

i care and share

Our practice is proud to announce we have become involved with the I Care & Share program through Optometry Giving Sight. We have committed to helping transform the lives of some of the 600 million people in developing countries who are blind or visually impaired due to uncorrected refractive error – the need for any eye exam and glasses.

We want to invite you to join us in transforming the lives of people around the world through the gift of vision. The I Care & Share program is based on the “buy one – give one” principal. For every complete pair of glasses we sell through our practice we will donate to the I Care & Share program. This money is then used to help provide needed eye examinations and glasses to needy and underserved people around the world.

Our practice is proud to have donated to the Optometry Giving Sight Haiti Initiative. Vision Source set a goal in 2015-2016 to raise $1 million to build and fund an optometry school in Haiti. As you may remember, that country was devastated by a major earthquake in 2010. In Haiti, there are currently only 3 optometrists to serve a population of approximately 10 million people. The contribution our practice made and has pledged each month has helped Vision Source and Optometry Giving Sight reach this goal, and the school is currently open, with the first class scheduled to graduate in a couple years..

Annandale Lions Club

We are proud to have contributed to the Lions Club of Virginia. The gently used glasses that our patients have been kind enough to donate have been put to good use by the missions our local Lions Club does here in Southwest Virginia. See below a letter from District Governor Karen Parker.

Salvation Army Men’s Rehabilitation Center

For nearly 20-years our office has donated eye exams and glasses to the men at the Salvation Army Rehabilitation Center. The Salvation Army has helped countless people get their lives back on track and start living their lives without dependence on drugs and/or alcohol. Our contribution of clear eye sight certainly helps these men better achieve their goals of completing the program at Salvation Army and seeking gainful employment after leaving the center.
