Technology:

We use state-of-the-art instruments to assist in eye exams! Just as in other fields of medicine; prevention and early treatment are the key to success. Today’s comprehensive eye exam can discover numerous problems which are correctable (or at least lessened) if found early.

Instruments assist in evaluating patients’ health. For example, the computer-controlled Visual Fields can help detect several conditions including retinal detachments; glaucoma; cardiovascular disease; and neurological problems.

We are also one of a few optometric practices to routinely use the Goldmann Tonometer, or “puff-less” glaucoma test.  Perfect for those that hate the "puff test."

Annandale EyeCare has the state of the art Optovue Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) and Optos Widefield Laser Scanning camera. These instruments are used to diagnose and treat glaucoma and other neurological conditions earlier than would be possible without this technology.

The Optos Optomap wide field retinal camera allows our doctors to image, diagnose, measure and track retinal conditions such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and other ocular diseases and conditions.  They say a picture is worth a thousand words, these images really live up to that adage.
