The doctors at the Eye Care Center are providers of primary eye care services. All of our doctors of optometry are certified in the treatment and management of eye disease with medication. This means our doctors treat most non-surgical eye conditions. Whether it is glaucoma, an eye infection, a foreign object lodged in the eye, ocular allergies or simply a preventative eye exam, you can trust the treatment of your eye condition to the doctors at the Eye Care Center.

Dr.Gregory KraupaDr. Kraupa is the founder and senior partner of the Eye Care Center. While Dr. Kraupa received his BS and Doctor of Optometry degrees from Pacific University in Oregon, he is a life long resident of Minnesota. After receiving his degree, Dr. Kraupa completed extended training in treatment and management of eye disease from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.Read More

Dr.Bradley RichterDr. Richter has been a partner in the Eye Care Center since 1985. A native of Mitchell, SD, Dr. Richter received his BS degree from Augustana College and his Doctor of Optometry from Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. Dr. Richter's commitment to his profession and his patients is evident, with his ongoing attendance at various clinical and management of eye disease courses throughout each year. He is active serving on various committees and membership of organizations within the surrounding communities.Read More

Dr.Mitchell AlbersMitchell H. Albers, OD joined the Eye Care Center professional staff in 2001 and became a partner in the practice in 2002. Originally from Bismarck, ND, Dr. Albers received his bachelor's degree from the University of Minnesota and his Doctor of Optometry degree in 1999 from Pacific University in Oregon. While in optometry school, he was a member of the Beta-Sigma-Kappa optometric honor society for academic excellence.Read More

Dr.Tina McCartyDr. McCarty joined the Eye Care Center team of doctors in 2003. She is a native of the Twin Cities. She received her bachelor's degree from North Dakota State University and her Doctor of Optometry from Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. McCarty was vice-president of her class at PCO, graduated as a member of the Gold Key International Honor Society, and received honors for clinical excellence.Read More

Dr.Ashley HerdeDr. Herde joined the Eye Care Center team in 2012. She graduated magna cum laude from St. Olaf College and received her Doctor of Optometry from Indiana University School of Optometry. While in school, Dr. Herde was a member of the Beta-Sigma-Kappa optometric honor society for academic excellence, and graduated top ten in her class. During her final year of optometry school, Dr. Herde was privileged to participate in a six-month clinical rotation at the nation’s top eye hospital, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami, Florida where she obtained extensive ocular disease training.Read More

Dr. Keith joined the Eye Care Center team in 2014. He is a native of Sherwood, ND. After graduating with a degree in Biology from Minot State University he went on to optometry school and received his Doctor of Optometry (OD) from Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon in 2008. At graduation he was awarded the Dean's Award, the highest honor in his class.

Dr. Alvarado joined the Eye Care Center team in 2018. She graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College and received her Doctor of Optometry from Pacific University College of Optometry where she graduated with honors. During school, Dr. Alvarado was a member of Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society for academic excellence. After graduation from optometry school, Dr. Alvarado completed an optometric residency at Minnesota Eye Consultants, P.A. in Minneapolis. The residency specialized in cornea, refractive surgery, glaucoma, and surgical co-management.
