What to Expect From Your Contact Lens Fitting

So, what exactly is a contact lens fitting or exam? These are different than your "typical" eye exam that you may already come into our office for annually. A contact lens fitting is specifically for those who are looking to begin wearing contacts for the first time. Having a contact lens exam done in our office is important because this exam allows our optometry team to assess the health of your eyes and determine whether you have any eye conditions that will prevent you from wearing traditional contact lenses comfortably.

For example, did you know that having astigmatism in one or both eyes can prevent you from wearing regular contacts? Astigmatism refers to an abnormal curvature of the eye, which can make it difficult for regular contacts to fit over the eye properly and comfortably.
