    Dr. Karen Dorman has been practicing optometry in Merrick for 27 years. She received her undergraduate bachelor’s degree from SUNY Albany in 1976 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in 1980.

    Optometrist

    Dr. Lori Landrio graduated from the prestigious SUNY College of Optometry (NYC) in 1997.  Upon graduation, Dr. Landrio was recruited as the Clinical Director of TLC Laser Eye Centers in Garden City.  The highlight of her 10 year employment at TLC was working closely with renowned lasik and cataract surgeon, Dr. Eric Donnenfeld.

    Dr. Rooney graduated from SUNY - University Optometric Center NY in 2013.  She is licensed in NY and her personal practice emphasis is on pediatrics.  

    Diagnosing binocular dysfunction is particularly important during school years because reading and comprehension difficulties are often associated with the eyes not working together.  These difficulties often manifest in poor attention, disruptive behavior, lack of cooperation during homework. 

    Dr. Rooney practices to the highest level of her license with the ability to treat eye conditions including dry eye, conjunctivitis, glaucoma and comanaging lasik and cataract patients with local ophthalmologists.
