Natural, full-spectrum light impacts many different physiological and biochemical processes and is essential for optimal functioning as well as healing. ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Unfortunately most people have more exposure to artificial light or modified light (light through a window) than to true full-spectrum sunlight. ⁣

Artificial light blasts cells in our eyes called retinal cells with extremely high levels of blue light. Retinal cells in your eye are sensitive to blue light and directly send information to areas of your brain that regulate many different pathways that impact hormones. Some of these also impact your appetite and hormones like leptin and insulin.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣


⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣Research has shown a strong correlation between blue-enriched light exposure and increased insulin resistance, higher peak glucose, and altered metabolic function. Other studies have also found a link between obesity and the levels of nighttime exposure to artificial light.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

What does this mean? It is probable that your 𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭/𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 is a huge piece to not only your cravings and likelihood of maintaining dietary modifications, but also your body’s ability to regulate healthy levels of hormones which impacts the entire body and healing process.⁣⁣⁣⁣⁣

 Lots of people/programs will try to sell you so many different things to support/boost your hormones but if you don’t identify the cause, you’ll likely spend a ton of money to only see minimal if any benefit and then be stuck depending on a pill or prescription forever.
