Low Vision

Low Vision

Many diseases cause irreversible vision loss; age-related macular degeneration, glaucoma, diabetes, etc. Sometimes, even with glasses, vision cannot be improved to normal levels. When this happens a patient is considered to have "low vision". This does not mean that nothing can be done. A patient with low vision may benefit from low vision rehabilitation, allowing them to use their remaining vision more effectively. This can be accomplished with something as simple as a good magnifying glass or as complex as electronic visual aides.

If you or someone you know is suffering from vision loss contact Family Eye Care of NEPA and ask to schedule a low vision evaluation.
