Before Vision Therapy:
Beau struggled with school. He complained about going to school and developed anxiety due to his struggles in class. He hated to read and avoided books and homework that encouraged reading. He labeled himself as “dumb”. As a mother, I knew something was not clicking for Beau. I requested test after test and the school’s results found that he scored low in reading. Beau was in extra reading classes since the second grade. In fourth grade when there wasn’t any improvement, I took him outside of the school to be tested. By fifth grade, a behavioral Psychologist referred us to Heights Eyecare.
After Vision Therapy:
I’m not sure there is enough space to describe how wonderful this program is. Beau READS! He picks up books and is interested in what’s inside. He enjoys school and shows interest in his grades, homework and projects. Homework is not a struggle for us anymore. He completes most of his work by himself. Anxiety in school no longer exists. Beau no longer labels himself as “dumb”, and talks about college. Beau’s grades at school now are good. We could not be more proud. Thanks, Dezy, for being a wonderful therapist, leader, educator and friend. Beau looked forward to seeing you every week. Your positive encouragement has changed my son. We can’t thank you enough! Before Vision Therapy:
I didn’t really like school before I came here, and reading was a struggle for me. I use to get upset and I did not get it. I was not fluent at reading. My hand-eye coordination was not good at all in sports.
After Vision Therapy:
I have seen improvement in sports and reading. I don’t struggle in class and I enjoy reading and am more fluent in reading. I am more awesome in sports.

Before Vision Therapy:
When Kole was 4, he would get terrible headaches. The alignment of both eyes was off. He underwent a surgery to correct this. As he got older it became evident that he had double vision as a side effect. This double vision made reading a challenge and he still would get frequent headaches. In school Kole had to work extra hard just to maintain a below average grade.
After Vision Therapy:
We were told that even with vision therapy Kole would most likely still have double vision. With the help of Miss Amy, and a lot of hard work, Kole has surpassed all of our expectations. He no longer has double vision. He has far less headaches and loves reading now. School is so much easier now, and he has improved so much in such a short amount of time.

Before Vision Therapy:
Before I started vision therapy, I had double vision. I had a hard time reading. Before I started vision therapy, I had a lot of headaches.
After Vision Therapy:
After vision therapy I can read better. I have read all the Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. I don’t have as much homework because I can finish my work at school. I don’t have as many headaches.

Before Vision Therapy:
Thaiden had always struggled riding a bike, catching, getting car sick, and focusing. These were all things we chalked up to “being Thaiden”. Once we found out that he needed eye therapy, we realized that he wouldn’t have to struggle with these things forever.
After Vision Therapy:
Throughout the process and especially at the end of eye therapy, we started seeing big changes that opened up endless opportunities for him. He now rides his bike to school and around town. He is enjoying sports and is becoming an important part of his teams. He very rarely gets car sick when we go on trips. He is enjoying reading and goes beyond graphic novels, onto chapter books. Thank you so much for helping him become the person he was supposed to be.

Before Vision Therapy:
I was always afraid of riding my bike and couldn’t catch a ball. I kept getting headaches a lot.
After Vision Therapy:
I can ride my bike easily and can catch a ball most of the time. My headaches also went away.

Before Vision Therapy:
Liam refused to read. He hated reading. It was hard and very frustrating for him and his family. Initially he only fell behind in reading, but it eventually impacted all subjects and his self-confidence suffered. We didn’t know what was wrong and we had no idea how to help.
After Vision Therapy:
Liam actually enjoys reading a good story. He enjoys reading with us. His self-confidence has improved and he is happy at school and home. Vision Therapy has been a blessing for our family. We learned a lot about our son, the root cause of his struggles, and how to help overcome them.

Before Vision Therapy:
It was hard to read. Letters and words moved around and I wanted nothing to do with the books at school. I thought it was just the way I was forever.
After Vision Therapy:
It is easier to read. The words stay in one spot. Vision Therapy is awesome and it is easier to read.

Before Vision Therapy:
Ryan would have headaches at least 3 times a week. He would become almost sick. He was not liking school, although he did well in school. He was not “seeing right”. This made him frustrated. He is a naturally good athlete and he was struggling catching a basketball or baseball. Thankfully Dr. Kimball recommended Ryan to see Dr. Rolfstad.
After Vision Therapy:
Since going just a few times to vision therapy, the headaches went away. When school started in the fall, Ryan was not so frustrated with reading, math, etc. He was doing so well in all subjects. His sports improved. This year in baseball he has improved greatly, seeing balls vs. strikes! Thank you, Vision Therapy!

Before Vision Therapy:
Before Vision Therapy I would come home after school every day with a headache. I would get really frustrated because I didn’t read as well as the other kids in my grade. I also could not hit a baseball very well. I got really mad because of that.
After Vision Therapy:
After Vision Therapy I had no headaches after school. I am more happy. I also can hit the baseball better and can see the ball better. In class I can follow along better and I can look back and forth between my paper and the board. I can read books a lot better after Vision Therapy.

Before Vision Therapy:
My daughter complained that words blurred and she could not comprehend information in school. Her grades in both math and reading were trending down, and several other areas were starting to slide. She hated school.
After Vision Therapy:
Jada’s grades, confidence, and relationships have improved. Her ability to interpret information and process visual cues is better. As a result, she does not feel “stupid” and is less likely to act up in class. With improved confidence, her relationships with peers and adults have improved. Before VT my grades were very low, my eyes would go cross-eyed by themselves, and I didn’t like school.
After Vision Therapy:
Now my grades have succeeded a lot more, my eyes don’t go cross-eyed and I love school. Everything is much easier to understand.

Before Vision Therapy:
Before Vision Therapy I was not a confident reader and my life was in a constant state of double vision. It was a way of life that I thought was normal. I would do anything to get out of reading out loud, even to my two-year old.
After Vision Therapy:
Now my vision is ONE!! I do not constantly see in two and have to guess what is real or not. I look forward to reading to my child! (And I don’t hide the books.) I just feel more confident in my over-all reading abilities.
