Martin M Matus, O.D.
Dr. Marty Matus is the chief optometrist and owner of Martin Optical Eyecare. He was born and raised in Mt. Prospect, Illinois where he attended St. Viator High School, and graduated from Loyola University in Chicago with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a minor in Biology and Chemistry. Following in his father’s footsteps, he attended the Illinois College of Optometry and graduated with a doctorate of optometry in 1989.
After graduating, Dr. Matus focused his career on medical optometry and practiced in a hospital-based retina clinic. While practicing at the hospital, Dr. Matus began formulating his dream of building a practice that met patient’s needs both optically and medically. Martin Optical Eyecare was established in 1990 with the purpose of providing premium patient eye care through practicing full medical scope optometry and providing state-of-the-art contact lenses and glasses.
Dr. Matus resides in Palatine with his wife Rhea and two daughters Morgan and Elise. He enjoys photography and scuba diving, and has recently volunteered his time in Haiti with a team of ophthalmologists co-managing surgical eye care.
William Steinhauser, O.D.
Dr. Will Steinhauser is a board-certified Associate Optometrist practicing at Martin Optical Eyecare. He was raised and currently resides in Libertyville, IL. After attending Libertyville High School, he graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana/Champaign with a Bachelor of Science in Physics and minor in Mathematics. He then went on to attend the Illinois College of Optometry and graduate with a doctorate of optometry in 2020.
Dr. Steinhauser excels in managing diabetes, glaucoma, macular degeneration, cataracts, binocular vision disorders, as well as fitting a wide variety of contact lenses.
In his free time, Dr. Steinhauser enjoys singing, playing guitar, playing a variety of sports, as well as running, biking, and hiking in nice weather.
