Retina Associates of Western NY, P.C. Art Contest

Theme: “Upstate New York Through Your Eyes”

Retina Associates of Western NY, P.C. is looking for original artwork by a local artist to be displayed in our new medical office in Horseheads, NY. Our theme “Upstate New York Through Your Eyes” may include any interpretation of the Southern Tier and/or Finger Lakes Region as you see it.  Artwork will be judged by a small panel including one of our physicians. 

There will be a $500 cash prize for the winner regardless of the intent to purchase. We do intend to purchase the piece for display in our office, that is, if a price point can be mutually agreed upon. RAWNY reserves the right to negotiate in good faith with the artist on a price point for said piece. Then, if all parties are in agreement, we may commission additional complimentary works that would be purchased from the artist for display around the office space. There is no guarantee that we will request the commissioned pieces but it will be strongly considered!

The deadline for submission is Friday, September 23rd. A winner will be announced on Friday, September 30th. 

Requirements & Details:

• Your art must be your own original concept and not a copy of anyone else’s copyrighted material
• Contest is open to all ametuer, established, and professional artists of all ages, in the Southern Tier, Finger Lakes, and surrounding communities
• Accepted mediums include paintings, drawings, mixed media, and photography (no sculpture as artwork will be framed and displayed on a wall)
• Size requirements for artwork should be no smaller than 16” x 20” and no larger than 24” x 36” and can be rectangular or square in shape, and landscape or portrait in orientation
• A high resolution photograph of your work may be submitted for the sake of the contest, however upon winning, we would ask to display the actual physical piece of artwork in our office (no reprint or photograph of the artwork, etc.)
• Entries must be submitted with a completed entry form and release (see page 2)
• Judging will be based on creativity, uniqueness, quality of artistic composition and originality of the depicted theme
• Artwork will be displayed in the office indefinitely but we do reserve the right to remove it at any time
• Though it will be considered, there is no guarantee for commissioned work following this contest
