With a degree from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine and over three decades of expertise, Dr. Cai is a trailblazer in traditional and complementary medicine. His innovative approach, developed during his research at the affiliated hospital of Beijing University of Traditional Medicine, merges modern technology with ancient practices. This groundbreaking work culminated in the creation of Acutherapy℠ in 1998, a revolutionary technique that harmonizes effective new methods with time-tested traditions.

Dr. Cai's distinguished career spans multiple continents and roles. He founded a successful clinic and herbal company in China, and has established private practices in the District of Columbia, Beijing, and Honolulu. His role as a research consultant at George Washington University Medical Center for an NIH-sponsored acupuncture trial underscores his commitment to advancing medical science. Additionally, his editorial work on “An Illustrated Chinese Materia Medica,” published by Oxford University Press, highlights his scholarly contributions.

Following his move to Hawaii, He enhanced his impact from 2015 to 2019 as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawaii. There, he played a crucial role in advancing the field of complementary medicine. His unique Acutherapy℠ approach, characterized by precise diagnostics, targeted point selection, and advanced needling techniques, has provided relief to countless patients.
