Starting in Jan 2017, pachymetry testing is available at Crown Point Optometry.
What is pachymetry testing?
Pachymetry measures the thickness of the cornea, the clear tissue on the front of the eye. A numbing eye drop is used and the device is gently touched to the eye.
Who should get this testing done?
This testing should be done for anyone with family history or eye pressures that indicate a higher risk for glaucoma, since thin corneas are a glaucoma risk factor.
Can I ask for this test specifically?
Yes, we are happy to do this test on anyone. Or, if we feel you would benefit from it and you do not wish to get it done, you are free to decline it.
