Meet the Staff

Dr. Shema has extensive training in primary eye care, pediatric vision, and management of ocular disease. She has special interests in the areas of vision therapy and sports vision. Over the past 4 years, Dr. Shema trained under experts in the field of developmental optometry and served as an active member of the College of Optometrist in Vision Development. Additionally, she is a member of the American Optometric Association and Virginia Optometric Association.

Dr. Shema is especially excited to provide young athletes the Sports Vision Training Program, a subtype of  vision therapy, which works on enhancing an athlete’s vision abilities to take their game to the next level. She will create individualized training plans on a sport-specific basis to build visual skills, custom-tailored to each athlete and sport.

Dr. Shema is excited to join the Associates in Eyecare team, and looks forward to building a lifetime of care for patients.
