Dennis R. McCarty, OD
Dr. McCarty has lived in the Austin area his entire life, and founded Cedar Park Eye Care in 2002. He has many family members in and around the Cedar Park/Austin area. Since graduating from optometry school in 2000 he has provided family eye care and co-managed hundreds of LASIK surgery cases. Dr. McCarty received his bachelor of science degree in biology from Southwest Texas State University and his doctorate from the University of Houston College of Optometry.
Dr. McCarty is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Texas Optometric Association, and Central Texas Optometric Society. He has served as President and Secretary for the Central Texas Optometric Society, and currently serves on the Continuing Education division of the Texas Optometric Association. He has worked as an adjunct Associate Professor for the University of Houston College of Optometry. Dr. McCarty is licensed in the state of Texas as a therapeutic optometrist and an optometric glaucoma specialist. He is a member of the Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce.
Dr. McCarty partakes in many activities that central Texas has to offer. He enjoys golfing, running, boating, competitive pistol and rifle shooting and most of all, spending time with his wife, Shannon and their daughter, Jolie Ann, born August 12, 2015 and son, James Roland, born March 12, 2017. Family has always been a huge part of his life as most family members live within a few miles of his practice.
