Battle-tested sunglasses

OVVO Optics Phoenix polarized sunglasses stand up to a lot of abuse and still look great.
What they are: Sunglasses composed of a steel-titanium composite that makes them incredibly light (less than an ounce), yet seemingly indestructible. The glasses are made in Germany and Poland.
The good: I didn't want to abuse a perfectly good pair of stylish new sunglasses, but when a company brags about the durability of its product, you have to rough the things up a bit. I didn't take a hammer to them; I think that would do some lasting damage, but I did throw them as far and as high as I could all over my lawn. I dropped them on pavement. I folded them, placed them on a carpeted floor and stood on them. And I dumped them loose into a backpack to suffer a month's worth of commuter churn. They still look brand new. The company claims the frames, when stretched out flat, can hold 90 pounds without breaking. All in all, if you love the glasses, you're not going to purposely give them this kind of abuse. They should stand up to the torture of most any trip. Also, the screwless hinges mean you don't need to keep tightening them. Though rugged, the glasses look fantastic.
The bad: Like umbrellas, sunglasses seem to get lost more easily than regular glasses, and these are just pricey enough to make such a loss really hurt.
