During optometry school Dr. Gdowski went on an optometric mission trip to Guyana with the Fellowship for Christian Optometrists in 2008 and looks forward to participating in future optometric mission trips. Dr. Gdowski has been the President of the West Michigan Optometric Association since 2012, and is also very active in the Michigan Optometric Association.
Dr. Gdowski also enjoys working with patients of all ages and also participates in the InfantSee program. She is comfortable in the treatment and management of ocular disease, including red eyes, flashes and floaters, diabetes, macular degeneration, and glaucoma. Dr. Gdowski specializes in Corneal Reshaping Therapy (CRT) contact lenses. These lenses correct certain amounts of nearsightedness and astigmatism with a rigid gas permeable lens overnight. The lens acts like a retainer which reshapes the cornea in a reversible way and allows the patient to not wear glasses or contact lenses during the day. This is great for patients who become intolerant to contact lenses during the day, are very active, including swimmers, or are interested in a unique alternative to glasses and Lasik.
