Dr. Tiffany Lione, a longtime resident of northern Virginia, has been practicing optometry since 1998 in both private practice and refractive surgery. She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Northern Virginia Optometric Association. Additionally, Dr. Lione serves as a clinical examiner for the National Board of Optometry.

Dr. Hieu Vu-Gia grew up in Connecticut and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from New York University in New York City. Pursuing an interest in optometry led him to the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia where he earned his Doctor of Optometry. After graduation, Dr. Vu-Gia moved to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area and has been in practice here since 1996. He currently resides in Northern Virginia with his wife, two children and the family dogs, Max and Sassy.

Dr. Paul Colbourne, a graduate of George Mason University, received his Doctor of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, with clinical honors. He possesses extensive experience in complete family eye care, contact lens fitting, especially hard to fit custom lenses, treatment and management of ocular disease, and surgical co-management (including Laser Vision Correction).

Dr. Robert M. Allen was raised in Northern Virginia. After high school he graduated from the University of Richmond. Following a successful and involved college career he eventually pursued his interest in medicine and eye care at the prestigious Pennsylvania College of Optometry, earning Bachelor of Science and Doctoral degrees. Upon graduation he returned to Northern Virginia and began his career in private practice with the purchase of a small office in Chantilly. That was followed a year later when he started Ashburn Eyecare Associates, one of the largest practices in Loudoun County. Not long afterwards he became a founding partner of Associates in Eyecare, which has five offices in Northern Virginia and two in Washington, DC. Dr. Allen has continuously dedicated himself to professional development and is deeply committed to patient care and satisfaction.

Dr. Nicole Teser has practiced primary care optometry in Northern Virginia since 2004. After working for 11 years in a large ophthalmology practice, she decided to pursue her vision of pairing excellent care with the latest in fashion eyewear. Growing up in Maryland, Dr. Teser graduated Suma Cum Laude from Salisbury University in 1999. In 2003, Dr. Teser completed optometry school at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Upon graduation, she was selected for a yearlong residency with an emphasis in the diagnosis and management of ocular disease.

Dr. Shea Christensen is a Midwest native. She grew up in Nebraska, where she attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Family Studies. At a very early age, Dr. Christensen knew she wanted to be an optometrist and pursued her dream by attending the Pacific University College of Optometry in Oregon, where she earned her Doctor of Optometry.

Dr. John Dresely was born in North Carolina, but grew up all around the United States and in Germany as the son of a U. S. Marine Corps officer. Northern Virginia was as close to a home base as possible. He attended Ripon College in Wisconsin, before earning his Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degrees from the Southern California College of Optometry.

Dr. Fissel graduated first in his class from the Pennsylvania State University and second in his class from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. While in optometry school, he received numerous scholastic and clinical awards. He is active in local optometric associations and attends numerous continuing education seminars to stay up-to-date with all the latest advancements in refractive surgery, contact lenses and eye disease treatment. He also loves to travel and is passionate about physical fitness.

Dr. Julia Garr graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park in 2000 with a bachelors degree. After supporting her Terrapins, she went to Suny State College of Optometry. As an active member of SVOSH (Student Volunteers for Optometric Service to Humanity ) she offered free eye exams to children and adults in Nicaragua.

Dr. Stacy Jaffe was born and raised in Kankakee, Illinois. She attended Eastern Illinois University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. After working for a year as a chemical analyst for a pharmaceutical company, Dr. Jaffe decided to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming an optometrist. She attended the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University where she earned her Doctor of Optometry degree. While at Salus University, Dr. Jaffe was an active member of the Student Optometric Services to Humanity, traveling to Haiti to provide optometric exams to those in need.

Dr. Kelly Joedicke was raised in upstate New York and attended Buffalo State University. She earned her Doctor of Optometry degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. Joedicke graduated in the top ten percent of her class and was elected to Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society. She received several scholarships for high academic achievement, was acknowledged for excellence in Contact Lens Fitting, and was awarded clinical honors in both Primary Care and Low Vision Rehabilitation. Prior to attending Buffalo State University, she received her A.A.S. in Ophthalmic Dispensing, which gives Dr. Joedicke extensive knowledge base of fitting and adjusting lenses, frames and contact lenses.

Dr. Jones graduated with honors from optometry school as a member of the international optometric society, Beta Sigma Kappa.   After optometry school in 2014, she moved to Chicago, IL to pursue a combined residency in ocular disease and low vision at the Jesse Brown VA medical center and the Edward Hines Jr. Veterans Administration Hospital.  It was here that she gained knowledge and a true passion for the management and treatment of various ocular conditions.  After residency she successfully completed the Advanced Competency in Medical Optometry exam.  Dr. Jones has practiced primary eye care in the DMV area since 2015.  Being a former competitive gymnast, Dr. Jones enjoys being active in all kinds of exercise including hiking, running, biking and playing pickle ball.  She loves traveling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Mallory Kuchem was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio. She attended the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, where she graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Highest Distinction in Biology. She then returned to Columbus to attend The Ohio State University College of Optometry, from which she graduated with both her Masters in Vision Science and her Doctor of Optometry degrees. While at Ohio State, Dr. Kuchem served as president of the College of Optometry’s chapter of Student Volunteer Optometric Services to Humanity and led mission trips providing optometric services to Guatemala and Nicaragua. She was elected to the Beta Sigma Kappa Honor society, received several awards and scholarships for her research and patient care, and received the prestigious Graduate of the Year Award.

Dr. Bryan Lewis graduated high school in Ashburn, Virginia, and then attended Brigham Young University for his bachelors degree. Dr. Lewis went to The Ohio State University where he earned his Doctorate of Optometry.

Dr. Martin graduated optometry school at the top of her class and was a member of the distinguished Beta Sigma Kappa Honor Society during all four years of her education at Indiana University.  Upon graduation, she spent time practicing in Champaign, IL, Omaha, NE, and Lincoln, NE.  Dr. Martin loves primary eye care and providing outstanding service to her patients.  She is experienced in contact lens fitting, pediatrics, ocular disease management, and co-management of cataract and refractive eye surgeries.  Dr. Martin moved to the Washington DC area in 2015 and enjoys spending her free time traveling, crafting, practicing yoga, and being a tourist in her new city.

Dr. Martin is currently on maternity leave caring for her twin sons who were born in July.  She will be back in the office this fall.

Dr. Roshni Patel was born and raised in Northern VA and earned her Bachelor's degree in Human Nutrition, Foods and Exercise from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She received her doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry's accelerated program and her clinical training from several institutes including the esteemed Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia.

After 42 years of practice, Dr. Reed is slowing to a 2-3 day work week. He is still very active in local and state associations of Optometry. He attends numerous education seminars on new techniques and new developments in contact lenses. He specializes in contact lens fittings and has a reputation among his peers for being very knowledgeable in the field on contact lenses, especially in difficult fits. Dr Reed enjoys spending his leisure time reading, traveling, cooking and working out in the gym.

Originally from New Jersey, Dr. Alyssa Shema is new to the Northern Virginia area. She graduated from the University of Richmond in 2013 with a degree in Chemistry. Following her undergraduate studies, Dr. Shema pursued a career in optometry at SUNY College of Optometry in New York City. While at SUNY, Dr. Shema served as president of the Student Optometric Association for Private Practice and was selected for the Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Patricia Shustock graduated from Chestnut Hill College and the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She spent three years in the US Navy stationed at the Orlando Naval Hospital. She was awarded the Navy Achievemnt Medal for her contributions to the eye clinic prior to leaving the service and joining her husband in the Washington DC area.

Dr. Diana Slavin is a native of Richmond, Virginia. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in biology. As the daughter of a prominent Richmond area developmental optometrist, the late Dr. Sidney Slavin, it was only natural that Dr. Slavin chose to pursue the career that she had grown up with: Optometry. Following her father’s lead, she graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry.

Dr. Jennifer Sun grew up in Boston and received her Bachelor of Science degree from University of Massachusetts at Amherst. Unhappy with the cold New England weather, she decided to move towards warmer weather. Eventually, to pursue her desire to be an eye care provider, Dr. Sun attended The Pennsylvania College of Optometry and graduated with a Doctor of Optometry degree. She has been practicing in Northern Virginia and Washington DC since 2009.

Dr. Thomas P. Finley is committed to providing you with the highest standards of professional eyecare available.

Dr. Finley is originally from Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from St. Francis College in Pennsylvania and his Doctorate of Optometry from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Following graduation, he served as an optometry officer in the United States Air Force for eight years, and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal and the Commendation Medal.

Dr. Grant became passionate about optometry at a very young age due to his mother’s genetic eye disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa. He is originally from Los Angeles, California, where he attended California State University and obtained a B.S. in Biology in 2004. After college he worked at the Boxer Wachler Vision Institute in Beverly Hills, California, and was published in multiple professional journals.

Dr. Quraishi is a long-standing resident of Manassas, Virginia. She obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and her optometry degree with high honor from The Ohio State University, College of Optometry. She completed a disease externship at the Chalmers P. Wylie Veterans Affairs Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, and an externship co-managing patients undergoing ocular surgery at the Columbus Ophthalmology Associates. Her areas of interest include posterior segment disease and contact lenses.
