Amy Nau is a partner at Korb & Associates, PLLC and an adjunct associate clinical professor at the New England College of Optometry. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the American Optometric Association and the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists. She is a member of the International Keratoconus Academy, the Scleral Lens Education Society and the Association for Vision and Research in Ophthalmology as well as the Eye and Contact Lens Association. Dr. Nau obtained her doctorate from The New England College of Optometry and completed a post-doctoral residency in ocular disease with the Boston VA Health Service. From 2000 - 2003, she was on the staff of the Department of Ophthalmology at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital. During that time she also served as a sub-investigator for clinical trials in the area of dry eye and allergy. From 2003 to 2014, she was an Assistant Professor at the University of Pittsburgh with a secondary appointment at the McGowan Institute for Regenerative Medicine where she served as the Director of Optometric Services at the University of Pittsburgh’s Department of Ophthalmology. While there, she directed the tertiary care center medical and scleral contact lens clinic and was responsible for teaching optics, refraction and contact lens courses to the medical students and ophthalmology residents. In 2005, while at the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Nau founded the Sensory Substitution Laboratory, which is affiliated with the Fox Center for Vision Restoration. Her primary goals were to explore restoring sight to the blind through artificial vision technologies, which exploit intact senses as a surrogate for vision. Dr. Nau was the recipient of the Western Pennsylvania Optometric Association’s Young Optometrist of the Year Award in 2008.
Dr. Nau welcomes new patients and has extensive experience in primary eye care, ocular surface disease management, myopia management, orthokeratology and the management of medical and other complex contact lens fittings.
She splits her time between clinical care, clinical research and product development, and enjoys lecturing nationally and internationally as well as mentoring young optometrists.
