As a licensed optometrist in Pennsylvania and Alaska since 2010, Dr. Edmonds began providing comprehensive eye care which has grown to include the specialty areas of Low Vision and Advanced Contact Lens Fitting and Management. He utilizes skills in evaluating, diagnosing, and treating of all disorders that affect the eye or vision. In addition to training in eye diseases and disorders, Dr. Edmonds is also taking an Interest in the scope of public health going beyond eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration, and Keratoconus and into the counseling and early detection of diabetes and hypertension. Dr. Edmonds split his first 4 years of practice to provide eye-care throughout southwestern Alaska and his home base here in Philadelphia. In remote distant villages he brought much needed services through small planes and snowmobiles to equip the native population with glasses, contact lenses, and ocular health examinations. After four years of working between Philadelphia, PA and Alaska, he has grounded himself with Edmonds Eye Associates and is happy to join the family practice full time. He is currently serving as the President of the Chester-Delaware Society of Optometry. He lectures on low vision and rural community health. He is the co-author of the Chapter on Low Vision in a clinical book, Wills Eye Institute 5-minute Ophthalmology Consult published in 2012.
