At Edmonds Eye Associates our optometrists and our entire team are committed to providing advanced vision care in a professional and comfortable environment. As therapeutic licensed optometrists in all of our locations, our primary eye care service includes a complete eye exam that analyzes eye health and vision function. In addition to eye exams and vision testing, our team of optometry professionals provide testing for glaucoma, cataracts and macular degeneration. Our locations at Drexel Hill and Great Valley also offers glasses and a complete optical service. All of our locations provider routine and specialty contact lenses, pre- and post-operative care and specialty services in low vision, vision therapy and rehabilitation.

During a yearly or bi-yearly examination, all of our patients will receive a patient history review, a series of vision and eye tests, assessments of eye focusing and movement, and an eye health evaluation. Low Vision

People with ocular pathology should first seek every measure of medical and surgical intervention to improve vision and stabilize the problem. Even with the best of care however, vision may not return to normal. These people need low vision management to maximize their vision to meet their life goals. The doctors at Edmonds Eye Associates have specialized training and many years of experience to treat and manage patents with low vision. The doctors use their unique skills to prove the best focus and then apply prism, magnification and a customized program of rehabilitation. Common problems that our doctors manage can affect central vision with problems like Age Related Macular Degeneration and Diabetic Retinopathy; field of vision with problems like advanced Glaucoma, Optic Neuritis and stroke; or problems of visual coordination as seem in Concussion and Traumatic Brain Injury. Brain Injury/Concussion/Stroke

Acquired Brain injury is the broad term for concussion, stroke and a host of neurological problems that affect vision. The vision related problems include a loss of visual field, double vision, headaches, eye strain, slow reading speed or poor reading comprehension. These problems are best managed by a team of doctors that other include a neurologist, physiatrist, and an optometrist. Rehabilitation is, for the most part, the treatment of choice. Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and other rehabilitation professional provide some of the programs that can help but the vision aspect is known as Vision Based Neuro Rehabilitation is lead by optometrist with expertise and training is this area. Dr. Scott Edmonds, senior partner at Edmonds Eye Associates with over 35 years experience in low vision rehabilitation is now one of the key team members at the Jefferson Comprehensive Concussion Center. He has developed an out-patient program for vision based neuro rehabilitation at the Drexel Hill location of Edmonds Eye Associates, Wills Eye Low Vision Service and at the Jefferson Center in the Philadelphia Navy Yard.
