Low Vision

Brain Injury/Concussion/Stroke
Acquired Brain injury is the broad term for concussion, stroke and a host of neurological problems that affect vision. The vision related problems include a loss of visual field, double vision, headaches, eye strain, slow reading speed or poor reading comprehension. These problems are best managed by a team of doctors that other include a neurologist, physiatrist, and an optometrist. Rehabilitation is, for the most part, the treatment of choice. Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist and other rehabilitation professional provide some of the programs that can help but the vision aspect is known as Vision Based Neuro Rehabilitation is lead by optometrist with expertise and training is this area.
