Expanded Care for Concussion Patients

October marks the opening of a new resource for our concussion, stroke and acquired brain injury patients. The Jefferson Comprehensive Concussion Center is a joint venture between Jefferson Hospital, Wills Eye Hospital and the Rothman Institute. This program provides a one-stop comprehensive resource  for patients with concussion and other neurological problems. Edmonds Eye Associates has been selected to provide the vision and eye care services required to help brain injured patents recover.  Vision symptoms are a key feature in brain injury. Light sensitivity, blurred vision, double vision and visual field defects are common problems for these patients.

Edmonds Eye Associates has been a leader in vision rehabilitation for the Delaware Valley for more than 35 years. Starting with the rehabilitation of patients with vision loss from macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy, the doctors expanded services and developed a program for concussion, stroke and acquired brain injury. After a one year joint venture with Salus University at Magee Rehabilitation, the doctors opened a new brain injury program at the Drexel Hill location. This program was largely successful and a second unit was opened at Wills Eye Hospital in late 2015.

Now patients with acquired brain injury can have evaluations and therapy at the Jefferson Comprehensive Concussion Center by the Doctors and Rehab Team of Edmonds Eye Associates. Located in Suite 140 at 4050 S. 26th St, Philadelphia, PA 19112 in the Philadelphia Navy Yard you can call 267-463-2300 for information or call 610-644-9300 for an appointment.
